Gyms Are Closed. No Problem!

Turn Any Room In Your House Into A Workout Space

The current state of the world can cause stress, anxiety and fear. One way to combat those feelings is to take time for yourself. For many people, working out is a huge part self-care.

Gyms, fitness clubs, and workout studios are considered non-essential, here in New Hampshire, so that means they closed their doors a couple of weeks ago. This might change your exercise routine, but there is still lots you can do at home.

Here are some awesome ways to get your sweat on without even stepping foot out of your house.

  1. Utilize online resources: There are SO many online platforms that offer free workout classes. Just google the type of workout you’re looking for and a bunch of videos will pop right up on your browser.
  2. Go for a walk: As mentioned in past blogs, walks are an awesome way to get fresh air, exercise and clear your mind – just make sure to follow that 6 feet away rule. It’s almost spring so that warm weather is on its way!
  3. Use ZOOM: Challenge a group of your friends to workout with you via Zoom. Pick an online workout to follow or even take turns leading the workout with each other.
  4. Follow Campus Recreation on social media. They are posting regular workouts that people can do from home.

Exercising is a great way to get your mind off of things that are stressing you out. Everything is different in the world right now so it’s likely that your routine will be, too. Take a deep breath - you can get through this!
